Dodge City, Kansas area driver Fast Fred Hembree was an Oklahoma
City regular back in the mid 70's. Fred's cars were always show pieces, painted pearl
white & candy purple with silver leaf lettering. Fred could usually be found
traveling with Utica, Kansas' driver Jon Johnson. |

Here is a shot of Jerry Wilson's rolling experiment at
Wichita. Jerry was the son of legendary engine builder Chet Wilson, was no slouch as
a motor builder. Many drivers graced the seat of this car, including D.E. Suggs, Jan
Opperman, Jay Woodside, Dale Reed, and many other notable drivers from the area. I
believe Roy Bryant was driving it the day this was taken. |
