Want to go out and here some blues & progressive rock? Check
out Act Casual, you won't be disapointed. They can go from silky smooth to
burning the house down in a New York minute! They have a great blend of cover tunes
and original songs.

Chris Wiser's band, the Sugar
Free All Stars! To find out where and when they will be playing
go to thier new website . Chris and crew
are performing many of his great Hosty Trio songs, like "6th Grade Band"!
Slide and finger pickin' guitar, rockin' drums, bass from who knows
where and whatever tricks they have up their sleves, that's the Hosty Duo! One thing you
can count on, if the Duo's in the house, the place will be rockin'!
The Duo is always playing, to find out
what they have been up to check out there website or the
site of the Norman Transcript. The Duo plays all over the country so be sure and see
them when they come to your area! If you want to know where the Duo is playing check their
gigs
page.
The Mike Hosty Anthology, a
double CD featuring songs for the previous Hosty releases! You can get your copy
from Hosty at gigs or online from hosty.com.
You can own a piece of Oklahoma rock and roll
history, even though there is no more Hosty Trio, their CDs are still available. The
Hosty Trio CD's available: #3, One Too Heavy, & Volume from the band online or in
person and you can find the CDs: Gusto & Wig Trig at Rainbow Records in OKC, buy them
up now, before they're all gone. Here is the link to The Hosty Duo's website Oklahoma Hic Hop music,
gotta love it!
Swing to the sounds of The Martini Kings, you won't be
able to sit still while their on the stage.
Check out Oklahoma's kings of swing here: The Martini Kings . BTW, the Kings are one of the few swing/ska bands who do original music, check out their CD "showtime once again". My personal favorite is the song "Sixteen Fists" written by the smokin' guitarist Urian Weaver and "Mr. Trombone" John Horton. Very rarely will you find a local band so loaded with talent. If you remotely like bands with horns, you owe it to yourself to check out the Martini Kings live, they will shake the house. The King's play all over the country so watch for them to come to your area and when you see them, walk up and tell Urian (the guitar player) what a great job he did and tell him Terry Sanderson sent you! The NEW CD is done, vist their website for more information or catch the band at one of their gigs!

Wyoming's only internationally
touring blues band. . . well, they moved to LA, but there still a great band. If you
like blues with a rock influence, this is the band for you, these guys ROCK! When
"Blinddog Smokin" comes to your town, be there you'll be glad you did.
Blinddog has 4 CD's out and one sampler CD, buy them all. If you want to buy one to
get your feet wet, buy "Body Droppin' Blues", it is a live CD of traditional
blues tunes that cooks from start to finish. For more information about Blinddog, gig
schedule, CDs, t-shirts, panties, photos, subscribe to their newsletter or join their
club go HERE!
If you are a guitar player of any type of
music, you need to see, Jason "Twelve Fingers" Coomes burn up the
fretboards on his strats, Jason is not your typical dime a dozen hot guitar player.
"chicago" Chuck Gullens is the drummer, awesome, I need say no more except he
has a great voice also. I think Carl "Big Guns" Gustafson must blow out a
harmonia a night, he's everything you would expect a singing harmonica playing ex-Marine
to be. This is not your typical blues band, I keep asking myself, "WHY AREN'T THESE GUYS REALLY FAMOUS?"
Blues people in the know, already know what a great band they are, now it's time to spread
the word. Besides their talents, they are really nice guys. When
you go see them, and you must, walk up to the lead singer Carl "Big Guns"
Gustafson or Jason "Twelve Fingers" Coomes and tell them Terry Sanderson sent
you!
If you have not seen the Red Dirt
Rangers, SHAME ON YOU!! Their music defies catagorizing, with a little rock, country, folk,
bluegrass and humor, you are bound to find something you enjoy. Great vocals, excellent
songs and superb guitar work, I highly recommend these guys! For the sake of comparison I
find these guys reminiscent of The Flying Burrito Bros., New Riders of the Purple Sage,
Little Feat, The Byrds, Brewer & Shipley, Eagles. For more information about this
great Oklahoma band visit their website. Attention guitar players of all types of music, you would do
well to watch the Ranger's lead guitarist Ben Han, he'll take you to school on how to get
the most out of your guitar.
